Erica Trivett D.O.M.P.
Erica graduated from the Canadian School of Osteopathy Manual Practice (Vancouver), having won the Coup de Coeur thesis award for her research study in olfactory dysfunction (altered sense of smell). In addition to being an Osteopathic Practitioner Erica is certified in the Feldenkrais® Method of Somatic Education.
Feldenkrais® Method is a way to guide participants through developmental movement pathways and can happen in two different ways Functional Integration® (FI™) or Awareness Through Movement (ATM™). FI™ is a one on one hands-on session. ATM™ is verbally guided group lessons.
Having completed Feldenkrais® Method training in Paris, France in 2006, Erica has since taught movement workshops and ATM™ in Norway, Belgium, Japan, the United States and Canada.
Originally from Vancouver, Erica’s 20 year career in classical ballet and contemporary dance took her to the United States, Canada, and Europe. Erica found her way to becoming a therapist through her profession as a professional dancer. As a dancer in Belgium Erica had received osteopathic treatment, which she found to be beneficial to her health and performance. Wishing to further her development in manual therapy Erica returned to Vancouver and completed a 5-year (part-time) program, as well as a quantitative thesis. Erica continues to teach ballet and contemporary dance to professionals locally and internationally.
Erica is bilingual, serving english and french communities.
